HAVE FUN!

Street parking is prohibited in Big Bear during winter months. You will be ticketed and/or towed. There is plenty of parking for 3-4 cars on our property. It’s best not to risk parking on the street in any part of Big Bear, any time of year.

Front Door

You have been provided with a code that is unique to your visit, and will only work during your visit.

To unlock the front door, press your code and then the check mark.

To lock the front door when you leave please press the lock symbol on the keypad.

If you have any issues please call us immediately.

Doors and Windows

Please keep all doors and windows locked while you are away.

You are welcome to use the black (garbage) and blue (recycling) bins at the front of the house.

Trash is collected by the city on Thursday, and a service will move the bins to the curb on Wednesday evening, and back toward the house on Thursday evening.

Upon checkout, please remove all trash from the entire house and place it in the black bin.

Coffee, creamer and sugar are provided upon arrival, and should last you a few days.  If you will be staying longer, additional coffee and supplies will need to be purchased on your own.

By the stove and should have all the tools that you need to have some fabulous meals. You will find a full size range, microwave, sink with garbage disposal, dishwasher, toaster and blender. Extra dishwasher pods are under the sink. We provide a combination of ceramic and plastic plates and cups to ensure kids and parents have what they need.

Please do not put the following down the drains. – raw or cooked meat – cooking oils – grease – fats. These items can solidify causing a multitude of septic complications and can lead to costly repairs.

While there may be some spices, oils and other cooking items, we cannot guarantee that a previous guest didn’t finish something without replacing it. Please bring all food and cooking supplies with you for your visit.  Vons and Stater Brothers are within a few minutes drive, should you need to do some grocery shopping during your stay.

Downstairs you will find a bedroom with queen sized bed, and upstairs you will find two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and the other with two twins plus a trundle.

Additionally, the small upstairs loft has a twin bed.

During the summer, the upstairs bedrooms have window air conditioning units, and during the winter, space heaters are provided.

A pack-and-play is provided in the downstairs bedroom closet.

Central heating is available for the entire downstairs.  The central unit is ONLY HEAT – no air conditioning available downstairs.  The thermostat is found in the living room area, behind the TV.

There are no heating vents upstairs, so please use the provided radiator-style space heaters upstairs during cold months.

During the summer, window air conditioners are installed in the two upstairs bedrooms.  They should cool the rooms quickly.

There is no air conditioner downstairs since it rarely warms to uncomfortable levels on the first floor.  We recommend opening the downstairs windows during the cool morning hours, and as soon as it cools in the evening, to allow the crisp Big Bear breezes to naturally cool the space.  Fans are also found in many rooms of the house.

During winter months, please leave the heat at 55 degrees upon checkout to ensure our pipes don’t freeze.

Put the devices down and get ready for some family time!

Downstairs you will find a full-size pool table and giant Connect 4 in the game room.

Upstairs and in cabinets around the house you will find an assortment of games, books and toys for all ages.

Press the button just inside the front door to open the small attached garage, where you will find cornhole, giant Jenga, and other outdoor games. (This is also a great place to store outdoor equipment, such as skis and snowboards.)

Out in the back yard play some horseshoes.  You’ll should find the horseshoes in the cabinet across from the washing machine.

In the downstairs and upstairs bathrooms, we have provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. A hair dryer is also available.

DO NOT FLUSH anything besides toilet paper down the toilets. Please make sure kids do not try to flush too much paper. There is a toilet plunger in the each bathroom. If you experience any plumbing issue please contact us right away.

Towels

We have provided a complete set of towels for each guest to use inside the property.

There is no need to collect the towels upon checkout – simply leave them in the bathrooms.

Laundry

There is laundry detergent and iron in the laundry room. The ironing board is in the closet next to the dryer. Feel free to use the washer and dryer, and remember not to leave anything when you go!

During summer months, we hope you enjoy dining on the back patio.  Extra folding chairs are found in the closet next to the laundry.

During winter months, cushions are removed from the outdoor furniture to prevent damage.

The BBQ should be connected to a propane tank with a spare attached by a combination lock.  If you run out of propane in the primary tank and need to change tanks, please let us know so that we can get the spare tank refilled for the next guest.  Please be sure and turn off the propane tank while you are not using it to ensure gas does not leak.

Fire code strictly prohibits the burning of any solid fuels, including charcoal, so please do not set up your own grill or firepit.

Baby Equipment

The Pack-n-play is located in the closet of the downstairs bedroom, with a clean sheet on it.  A portable/travel high chair is provided in the closet as well, and can be attached to a dining room chair or a folding chair (found in the laundry room closet).  While we do not provide a complete set up baby eating/drinking utensils, you will find plastic plates and cups in the kitchen. Please be mindful that his home is not child proofed in any way.

Pets

Pet bowls are provided in the living room.  Please pick up after your pets outdoors, and clean up any pet accidents immediately using the spray provided under the sink.  I
